Prof Indrajit Singh Saluja is the publisher and Chief Editor of The Indian Panorama, a newspaper published in New York and Dallas since 2006. After coming to America in 2003, he launched a few newspapers for the Indian community in Punjabi and Hindi in the New York and California area. Among them are Shan-e-Punjab, Punjabi Duniya, Apna Punjab, Punjabi Patrika, Hum Hindustani, and Punjab Mail.
In India, he was a lecturer teaching English in various colleges from 1966 to 2003. However, the longest period of his teaching career, spanning 37 years, was at Arya College, Ludhiana, where he served from 1973 to 2003. He first delved into journalism when he started a monthly magazine, Punjab Beat, from 1995 to 1999.
Besides being a publisher-editor of various publications in New York, he has been a TV anchor at Ravi TV and JUS TV and freelances as New York State Courts System Interpreter.
Prof Saluja is a published poet who writes in three languages: English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
Over his long, distinguished career, he has been associated with a number of social, sports, and cultural organizations and activities. The then Prime Minister of India, Shri Chandra Shekhar, nominated him as a member of the National Youth Council for two years. He has also been on the Academic Council and Languages Faculty of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
A widower, Prof. Saluja has two sons, a daughter, and two grandchildren who all live in New York.
